Stewart Mine Tourmaline | Feedback
Illustration by: J.M.Heuberger Old Headframe 1996
Step back in time to the boom town years of the 19th Century when over 3,000 people reveled in the bonanza of lead, copper, zinc and silver that flowed from the Kelly Mine. You will see the steel headframe standing today just as Gustav Billing erected it from the designs of Alexander Eiffel in the 1880s.
For the serious mineral collector, surface stockpiles hold millions of tons of surprises. With over 80 minerals cataloged, perhaps the world's finest Smithsonite may be found on your visit.
MUSEUM SPECIMENS--TO-THUMBNAILS- SEE THE EXHIBIT OF SMITHSONITE AT THE NEXT GEM AND MINERAL SHOW -OR- GOTO THE COMMENT WINDOW AT THE END OF THE SITE AND REQUEST A LIST OF AVAILABLE SPECIMENS-OR- SEE MILLENNIUM INC AT DENVER IN MID-SEPTEMBER.
